Eline Hanekamp PhD

Eline obtained her PhD in 2004 from Erasmus MC Rotterdam. After working in several research fields, such as Veterinary Virology, Oncology, Forensic Research, and Diabetes, she decided to leave academia, and became a salesperson of natural, animal-friendly cosmetics for a year and a half. Science kept calling though, which is why in 2010 she joined Excerpta Medica, a medical communications agency.


Wouter Eijgelaar PhD

After obtaining his Master of Science degree in biological health sciences at Maastricht University in 2005, Wouter continued his career as a PhD-student at the Experimental Pathology Lab Maastricht at the Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC). He specialized in cardiovascular research, specifically focusing on the molecular profiling of vulnerable plaques.


Marloes Schepens PhD

Scientist at Danone Research

Marloes Schepens (1981) studied Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University Nijmegen, with a specialization in Pathobiology. After receiving her MSc degree in 2005, she started her PhD-project within the Top Institute Food and Nutrition. Her project was entitled ‘Nutritional modulation of intestinal inflammation’ and carried out at NIZO food research in Ede. She obtained her PhD-title in 2011 at Maastricht University. Currently she is working as a scientist in gut biology at Danone Research in Wageningen.

Marloes participated in the roundtable-discussions at PCDI Postdoc Retreat 2012.

Wouter van Winden PhD

Wouter van Winden obtained a MSC. in Bioprocess Technology at Wageningen University in The Netherlands in 1997. He moved to Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, for a PhD study on metabolic analysis of the microorganisms Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Penicillium chrysogenum. He combined his PhD research with a job as part-time journalist for the TU Delft weekly.


Uloff Muenster PhD

Managing Director at Merck BV

Three years after obtaining his PhD (1992) in Medicine/Experimental Cardiology and Physiology, Uloff started his career as a clinical researcher at Merck and soon switched to the position of a medical advisor in thyroid products, followed by Product Management positions. Along with his job, Uloff pursued his MBA in the UK during 1999-2001. In 2002 he obtained his first position as a general manager at Merck, followed by several management positions in different countries. He currently holds the position as managing director at Merck BV Netherlands.

Uloff spoke at the Life Science Talent Café 2011 and participated in the roundtable-discussions at PCDI Postdoc Retreat 2012.
